BSPR is proud to be hosting the 2012 meeting of the European Proteomics Association which also includes our annual BSPR meeting. The meeting will be held in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. The latest information is available on the meeting website (www.eupa2012.org). Following the opening sessions, we will have three full days of scientific sessions with world class speakers, together with free communications, round table lunch and learning sessions, posters, trade workshops and a trade exhibition. There will be a Civic Reception in the City Chambers and the Conference Dinner will be at the unique Oran Mor Restaurant.  There will be an accompanying person’s programme.  An added attraction for the meeting is the excellent budget priced accommodation at the Glasgow Caledonian University which is only 5 minutes walk from the conference venue. Registration is now open and the abstract submission deadline is 16th March 2012.

Journal of Proteomics  and  ABSciex  webinar of January 24th is now open for FREE REGISTRATION. This webinar will focus on the significant improvements in throughput and workflow flexibility offered by chip-based columns for protein identification and intact protein analysis.

Bursaries for EuPA/BSPR 2012

BSPR is awarding a number of bursaries to assist scientists in attending the meeting.  These will include Student Bursaries of £150 for which all students at universities in the UK and Ireland are eligible to apply. In addition there will be young investigator awards covering the registration fees which are available to members and prospective members as well as the prestigious M J Dunn traveling award. The closing date for applications is Monday 20th February and awards will be announced well before the abstract submission deadline.  Full details are on our website, so please tell all members of your research group about these awards and encourage them to apply.

Membership Renewal

Subscriptions for 2012 are now due.  Unless you pay by standing order (£15.00), cheques (£20.00) should be sent to our membership secretary (Neil Kitteringham) as soon as possible. Full membership application / renewal information is available on our website. Subscriptions must be paid by 31st March 2012 to qualify for the member’s registration rate at EuPA 2012. Members whose sub is paid by standing order will be informed when this has been received.

Book Offer

We have secured copies of the book Proteomics in Practice, 2nd revised edition, Westermeier, Naven & Höpker (2008) at a special price for members (and new members) of £15.00 including post & packing.
