The BSPR 2026 conference will take place in the Hinxton Hall conference center on the Wellcome genome campus, Hinxton, Cambridge.

Accommodation

​

There will be limited accommodation at the Wellcome Genome Campus, which is available on a first come first serve basis. Please note the accommodation costs are NOT included in the conference registration price and will have to be booked separately. Details for booking ‘Event accommodation’ at Hinxton Hall can be found here.

A booking code will be sent as part of the registration confirmation email that will allow you to book this on-site accommodation.

Catering

Refreshment breaks (tea/coffee), lunches and Monday night dinner (Hinxton Hall) is provided as part of conference registration.

 

A gala dinner is organised at Magdalene (pronounced "maudlin") College, Cambridge, on the night of Tuesday, 14th July for those who have purchased gala dinner tickets. Transportation is arranged to take attendees to Magdalene College (departing Wellcome Genome Campus at approximately 18:00) and back to Whittlesford Parkway Station and the Wellcome Genome Campus (Departing Magdalene College at approximately 23:00). The dress code is smart casual.

 

Please note that dinner will not be provided on the night of Tuesday, 14th July, unless a gala dinner ticket is purchased during conference registration.

 
The local pub - The Red Lion Inn, Hinxton - is within walking distance of the conference centre and serves food from 5.30 to 8.30 PM

Conference location and arrival

​​

Following conference registration the confirmation email will contain a link to an access pass that will be required for Wellcome Genome Campus access on arrival.

The conference and refreshment breaks will be held in the Francis Crick auditorium in the  Hinxton Hall conference center. The arrival desk will be situated at the entrance to the auditorium where you are required to sign in and collect your name badge. All refreshment breaks and lunches will be provided in the events space surrounding the auditorium. Sponsors exhibits and poster boards will also be situated in the events space.
The Monday night networking dinner will be in the dining room of Hinxton Hall, situated opposite the conference center.

Getting to the Wellcome Genome Campus

On weekdays a small capacity shuttle bus, “Richmonds”, runs regularly between Whittlesford Parkway Station (awaiting outside Platform 2) and Wellcome Genome Campus at limited intervals. Please note the shuttle bus is expected to be busy, in which case we recommend using Uber or a Veezu/Panther taxi (contact number: 01223 715715)

Shuttle bus departure times from Wellcome Genome Campus to Whittlesford Parkway Station: 14:50, 13:20, 16:05, 16:45, 17:30 and 18:10
 

At the end of the conference on Wednesday 15th July 2026 two large coaches will take attendees from Wellcome Genome Campus (departure 16:30) to Whittlesford Parkway Station (departure 16:30), for train connections to London or Cambridge.

Arriving by car/taxi 

Following registration conference attendees will be provided with an access pass to present at the gated security entrance. If arriving by car please pull into the middle lane (lane 2) and show your pass to the security team member in the guardhouse or press the intercom if the guardhouse is not staffed.

 

Attendees should park in car park D which is a short walk from the conference centre. 

 

Electric car charging is available in Car Parks A and E between 7 PM and 7 AM. To start the charge you will need to scan the QR code on the side of the charging point.
You don’t need to download the app, but if you already have the Egg/Monta App installed, it will instigate the charge through that.
For any help when onsite, please speak to reception at the entrance to campus.

Fitness facilities on Campus

​​

The Wellcome Genome Campus is a 125 acre site encompassing a mixture of natural environments in addition to the scientific community it hosts. You are welcome to explore the many trails around campus that wind their way around the lakes, an orchard, parkland, wetland, woodland, pleasure gardens and an outdoor fitness trail

 

The fitness trail (trim track) has a selection of outdoor exercise equipment which is situated in the wooded walk behind the Hinxton Hall green. 


There are a number of walking and running routes around the campus and surrounding areas, please note that you will find these a mix of uneven tracks and paved surfaces which may be muddy following wet weather.
